Error Message #2038
Jan 24 2010, 3:20 AM EST | Post edited: Jan 24 2010, 3:20 AM EST
I have tried to upload a couple photos to my website. It now won't allow me. This message occurs:

"An error occurred while attempting to upload your photo. Error #2038"

Anyone know how this can be fixed or perhaps is this temporary?

Download/Upgrade Adobe Flash Player. Wetpaint uses Flash Player to manage photos. You can go to Adobe's Website here

The message you are receiving is an Adobe Flash Error. Try searching the threads here with "2038" in the "search this site" window at the top of this screen and read about the Flash error 2038.

Then try uninstalling the Flash player you have on your system and download a fresh copy.

Uninstalled all Adobe content on my computer and reinstalled the brand new Adobe 10. I use Firefox by the way.

I am still getting the exact same error message.

Here is what I know about "I/O error message #2038"
1. It is a catch all error message from Adobe Flash Uploader when it does not know exactly what the cause is.
2. An antivirus or firewall or using a proxy server can cause this if the url transfer is blocked by either.
3. Firefox will give this error when switching tabs while the transfer is in progress.
4. Sometimes batch uploads will create this problem
5. IE 8.0 will create this error occassionaly.
6.. Last but not to be left out, is the flash uploader uses memory as a temp storage for the transfer. If there are many programs opened and depending on the size of the transfer, memory can run out creating the error.
