Discount for Educators

Why not offer educators a reduced rate for ad removal? Educators who use wikis will go broke at $20 per wiki if they teach more than one class. Since educators are public servants, it seems that supporting them to help their cause would serve as a GREAT marketing campaign. Where does Wetpaint stand with supporting educators? Do you find this valuable?

Good suggestion, but, for now and prob for a while, everyone will pay $19.95 if they want to have ads removed. It was just costing them too much to allow educators to remove ads.

Naru is right, and I'm glad you put this on the suggstions page. The wetpaint admins and mods will take a look at this, and perhaps consider it. Do you find this valuable?

Is it the cost or lost revenue? After all, educators could be issued a special code that would allow automatic ad removal and would not cost Wetpaint more than the time it takes to write a few lines of HTML code. Do you find this valuable?

Your agreement with Naru and use of the word "perhaps" makes an educator discount sound unlikely, at least "for now and prob for a while". I am saddened by the lack of support that Wetpaint offers to educators, especially after Wetpaint's awesome training at the 2009 ISTE conference since the conference is dedicated to expanding the use of technology in education. What was the point? 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
