My Wiki doesnt show up in searches
Jan 16 2010, 3:20 PM EST | Post edited: Jan 16 2010, 3:20 PM EST
I have done a search for my other wikis on Google and they do not turn up. Does anyone know how to get a wiki out there for other people to see it? Its frustrating to have to constantly send links which people say don't work sometimes. I'm getting frustrated. Do you find this valuable?

1. Google search results are based on how much traffic has gone to a particular site. The more hits, the closer to the top of the results list a site gets. Very little traffic to a site, is going to push that site to the end of the results list making it almost difficult to find.
2. You may try to follow the instructions on this page and sub-pages to optimize the search functions

3. Sending links to your website, should always bring the user to your site, unless the link copied or pasted is incomplete.

4. The best way to find your site is to set the search attributes as such.
Name or topic of your site plus wetpaint.com

e.g.
instructions wetpaint.com

This will certainly bring up any wetpaint wiki with "Instructions in the content of the wiki

5. General idea of your site name
e.g. ads wetpaint.com

This will bring up any wetpaint site that has ads in it. Including "wpads.wetpaint.com"

6. You can even limit your search to only Wetpaint sites in Google by typing "site:wetpaint.com keyword"
Just replace "keyword" with whatever you are looking for.

I will definitely try that. Whenever I do the Google search it says my search did not match any documents. Is that the same thing that you are talking about? Do you find this valuable?

It also says the same thing when I do Yahoo searches and etc. Like my site doesn't even exist. Do you find this valuable?
