Personally, I like it. I think it is more professional and centered.Look at almost any site, for example Yahoo, they use this format. Do you find this valuable? |

What will be the EXACT width in the page editing area?So... 1024 minus (the width of the left Site Navigation Area + Margins) = ??? In the new page format ? It is not mentioned on this page: http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Page+Formatting+Tips It is recommended to either set a table to "fit to page" or set a fixed pixel width so that the table fits within the fixed page width. So what would be the fixed pixel width of a table, that fits within the fixed page width? Do you find this valuable? |

"What will be the EXACT width in the page editing area? There used to be an image on that described the dimensions you are inquiring about. I can't seem to find it on WPC anymore. Perhaps a moderator or above can tell us what happened to that page. Here is a copy of the image that was on that page. That image was deleted on December 16, 2009. http://image.wetpaint.com/image/3/1CdeTpPiOwSp2aIVJzsxkA27113/GW612H792 But with Wetpaint lately, things have been happening without any communications from anyone in the know. Is the fixed page coming? Is the fixed width centered content page layout still in the works? What about all the people that have gone and modified their wikis due to the announcements to get ready for those changes that are not yet arrived? Do you find this valuable? |

Ohhh my goodness...The right rail... is it something that can be used? Something similar to the Layout Zones? Or will this be another area filled with all kind of Adds.. where we have no control over? I'm really not happy with the 650 pixels Max Content Width... We were just in the process of making pages, with a column on the right... Where we can have links to our pages, as well as outbound links.. Each with a short description... because we can't do that in the left Site Navigation pane... It was also our solution for making people find all the pages, because (to my astonishment even) people don't understand that the left pane... is the Site Navigation Menu of our site... It has no obvious title, like [SiteName] Navigation Menu They get lost in all other options... like the Wetpaint horizontal Navigation bar... All kind of Adds... They click on links by Google, and think it belongs to our site... f.i. Also the Wetpaint links at the bottom of pages are hardly found... or not understood! People don't know we are using Wetpaint as a platform... or don't know anything about Wetpaint... It would be very GREAT... HELPFUL... whatever... whenever Wetpaint can give some more info indeed, about new features... new page formats... dates... features that will be removed, etc... Thanks CryingDove, for your reply ! Why is it taking so long to come out, what about a litle button in the admin area where we can change the width to the fixed width so we don't have to wait.

"I'm just wondering.... In which Newsletter was the new page format announced? The notice was on the home page of Wetpaint Central. It read as follows: Announcements & Tips Wetpaint sites will be transitioning to a fixed page width format in the coming weeks. This could impact preexisting page layouts. "I'm just wondering.... In which Newsletter was the new page format announced? The release to switch over to the fixed centered format was postponed indefinitely. However, we have switched a few sites over to this format manually. If you would like your site to be this format, send me a private message and I can change it for you. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
