Adding new user Problems

I have been trying to add new users for about a week now and I just can't get this to work. Every time I add someone and they try to sign in it says they are not able to access my site. I have my site set to private for authors. I even tried to set up a new user with my own email address and nothing.

What could be wrong. This just started a couple of weeks ago. Do you find this valuable?

Wetpaint has removed the option to invite people to private sites. If you want members to join your wiki, you will have to make the wiki public, have the person join, and then make it private again. Do you find this valuable?
