Wetpaint Ad Content
Dec 1 2009, 3:20 PM EST
I teach at a high school that has a population of 2,000 students. We are exploring using Wetpaint as the vehicle for each of our students to create an online portfolio. My concern is that the student portfolios will include advertising. Does Wetpaint have any specific standards for the advertising that they allow in their site? If so, what are those standards? I do not want to be accused of exposing students to inappropriate content in a site which our school is recommending that they use.

For Education purposes, wetpaint would turn off the advertisements, but that was ended a few months back. You do have a few options though:1. You can pay for advertising to be gone on you site for approx. $20 a month. http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Remove+Advertising 2. Or, if you are using FireFox instead of Internet Explorer 8, you can have your students download an Ad-On to block advertisements, which works perfect for me. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865 I recommend option #2. 1 out of 1 found this valuable.
