Formatting Problem
Nov 27 2009, 9:22 PM EST
Whenever I try to make templates the formatting always changes when I save. I had this same issue a month or so ago when I made a profile template for my newest site. Everything fixes itself when I edit it, but once I press save if text is centered it will return to left aligned. Now I am attempting to make a template for the Character Pages on the same site. I want every other table cell to be left aligned and the others to be right aligned. Once I save it reverts itself back to everything in left alignment. This is quite frustrating. I do not wish to use Internet Explorer because of how insecure it is. It lets too many viruses leak through its cracks. However, I did try it for a moment to see if it fixed the glitch. Once I saved in IE the whole page screwed up. The table was deleted and the text was left behind but scattered everywhere. Do you find this valuable? |

For what it is worth, these problems still exists. I have documented the anomalies (polite way of saying it) on a page. There are descriptions on what can be experienced with the WYSIWYG editor and the two supported browsers and how to resolve those issues. I invite you to look at this page on my wiki Splats2. You may find an answer to what your are experiencing.http://splats2.wetpaint.com/page/Problems Do you find this valuable? |

If your saved page doesn't look like your editor page, try cutting the bad content (either text or tables), deleting all the white space up until the next bit of unformatted text (i.e. no bold, no italics, no color, no alignment). Then space down a few lines, and paste. When adding or cut/pasting a table or picture, it's usually best to hit enter 3 times and then add/paste the item into the middle (2nd line) of your 3 line whitespacebuffer. Then if necessary, go back and delete the two lines. This strategy ensures that you'll have a space above and below your table if you decide to add text or formatting. If you're nesting tables within tables, this will also allows you the space to select the framing table. If you don't allow for these spaces between tables (at least initially), it may be difficult to select the framing table.► josh Do you find this valuable? |
