New Page Layout

Most of my sites have been prepped for the 1024 fixed width page format. I have a couple of questions regarding the new page layout.1. A couple of my sites use image maps. One has 10 poly shapes ( extensive coords). They are within or at the 650 pixel width of the main content area. When the layout change is rolled out, will it resize images? It is important to know this answer because my hotspots are set up against the image size. 2. What will happen to two zone pages that are set up now, with pages, that are at 1024 width? What will become of the right zone? 3. Tables that are set up adjacent to each other on a page, utilizing the 1024 width as it stands now. What will happen to the right table and the contents within that table? The most important question is the image mapping one above. That is a lot of work to set up a multi-poly shape map. If the images are going to be re-sized, I need to rework the entire map before the new page layout is released. Do you find this valuable? |

"Most of my sites have been prepped for the 1024 fixed width page format. I have a couple of questions regarding the new page layout.1. My understanding is that images will not automatically resize, but I'll have to dig deeper to find out about this specific type of case. 2. When Wetpaint pushes out the redesign (this will come a few weeks after the change to fixed/centered format), content in the right column should populate into the new right column. However, because of the differences in size, some reformatting will likely be required. We'll have a better idea of exactly what will happen once we get closer to the release date. 3. Can you show me a page with an example of tables in this arrangement? I'm not sure I'm getting this one. Do you find this valuable? |

I have re-done some of my important sites to accommodate both the Fixed Width and The New Page Layout. The Fixed Width is no problem but the pages that have been setup so the main content area of 650 pixel width and the right rail at 300 pixel width are sitting there with a huge white space on the right side awaiting the release of the new page layout that was alerted to us, that these changes would be released in a few weeks. It has been a couple of months now. Does Wetpaint have a target date on either of these changes? If not, Sheesh !!!! Do you find this valuable? |

Probably not until they get back from their holiday.I have finally gotten started switching some of my older pages on CSI to accommodate the new format, but I won't be able to put any new stuff in until they actually change it. Do you find this valuable? |

I hope they deleted it because they do not want to do it anymore. I hope that is what happened.

"Oh man! I found the page. NO!That page references the 1024 fixed width page format. I am talking about the page that references the Center Content and Right Side Rail content areas. See this page where I copied the diagram from WPC. Look at the gray diagram in the middle of the page. http://splats2.wetpaint.com/page/Looking+at+the+new+page+layout Do you find this valuable? |

Well my sites that have changed at WPs inference(s) that this was coming. There was no other information provided by a WP employee as to otherwise. Then the information on the page in questions just disappears. That wasn't a concept, according to the earlier replies for Jeremy in this thread.....All of the Premiums sites, and the TV-Fandex page are set up to WP's inferred new formats. There isn't a moderator or community member that can answer this question without speculations, but I do respect their thoughts. I will bump this thread after the WP employees return from their Holiday time off. Do you find this valuable? |

I apologize for venting on this. I was a strong supporter of Wetpaint's decision to go with this and as a moderator tried to answer the questions they had with its regard. So much work for nothing. But anyway. I am the creator and chief bottle washer at Splats2. I will make all my new sites with just one Wetpaint Page, no matter what the format will or will not be. The Home page. The rest of the pages on those sites will be made in HTML and Java Script, with background images, no ads, my own formatted page layouts and no banners. As seen in the two examples on this page http://splats2.wetpaint.com/page/Sample+of+A+Wetpaint+Page+in+HTML Do you find this valuable? |
