Fonts have always been an issue for web designers. The reason being is most are proprietary and cost money to have. Plus the font has to not only be available on the wiki, but has to reside on the user's computer. Wetpaint uses the fonts that come bundled with the operating systems on the user's computer. And Wetpaint has to make sure the available fonts are there for all platforms. Mac, Windows, Ubuntu, Unix and others. So the fonts that you see are those that are in common with all systems. Hopefully the industry will come to a point where fonts will become more available to use and not having to worry about all systems having them on the computer. There is a movement to supply "Free" fonts that can be embedded. This new font type is the "@font". Still in its' infancy stage, but I hope they gain momentum in the future. But in the meantime, there may only be one or two more fontfaces available to use.1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
