Distinguation?
Nov 10 2009, 10:20 PM EST | Post edited: Nov 10 2009, 10:20 PM EST
For rule eleven, what is the call for a post made to either "bump a thread" and "Forum Necromancy" or redundancy? Can someone elaborate? Do you find this valuable?

Also, if someone cannot understand english, how are they going to read and comprehend "If you do not understand English, you can translate using this link"

Well, the definition of "Forum Necromancy" is to bring back a thread that has been long dead. Dead threads are threads that have not been replied to for months. The reason they are locked is so they do not start frivolous conversations among users.

Also, if a question has not been answered for a few months, this can mean one of two things. The users either figured out the answer himself, or asked the question again, and was answered that time.

Why lock redundant threads? Why not delete them from the archives? Do you find this valuable?

I will usually delete threads that are irrelevant.

I don't lock a thread unless the topic is concluded or if it goes off-topic.

If the thread was advertising, I would message the person and let them know, to advertise on WPADs and delete the thread. If if were anonymous, I would delete the thread without a message. Same with irrelevant threads, Message where I could and delete. I spent a month deleting irrelevant threads from 2006 to 2008.and didnt even make a dent in the amount that still remains.
Addendum - I also deleted over 4500 photos from the photo gallery. And not any my work upped my contribution count.

I uploaded an image of some flags that may give a visual representation for that sentence for those who need translation. The image can be linked to Google's Translator.

I usually delete advertising threads and threads that have nothing to do with Wetpaint. Do you find this valuable?
