You may want to view this page on Splats2, which is a site created by a retired WPC Community Moderator CryingDove with some helpful tips and tricks for using Wetpaint.

Because of WP's lack of java support and the fact that 89.99% of all counters use java, I suggest using google stats (unless your purpose is to show off how many hits you have)

Interesting statistic. Using a hit counter on a page can be a useful tool to determine whether a page is valuable to visitors or not. If the visit count to a page is very low, it can mean a couple of things. 1. Perhaps the content is not valuable to your visitors. 2. Maybe the page needs to be brought into the forefront, if the content is important. For a wiki to be successful the content on that wiki needs to be pertinent to its' visitors. A hit counter can supply information to make proper decisions about one's wiki pages. Google stats can also, supply similar information.

Although Wetpaint does not directly allow javascript to a page, they have offered to members a way to do so. See this page on WPC.

Not only can one add html coded pages, they can use this technique to add java scripted pages and external CSS coded pages also.

I use both simplecounter and hitstats on my wiki pages. Both are written in javascript.
