Page Layout Changes
Oct 14 2009, 11:07 PM EDT
I cannot believe I am the only one thinking "outside the box" or should I say boxes. The fixed width page format is nothing. Most of you have missed the point. The fixed width page is a pre-requisite for the new page layout. If you are complaining now about your content not looking right in the space provided now ( 761 pixels wide ), wait til you have to divide your content into two boxes. One box is 650 pixels wide and the other to the right of that are is 300 pixels wide. The changes coming are sure to come. So what to do now! 1. If your screen resolution is higher than 1024 X 768, change the screen resolution to 1024 X 768 and adjust all page content so there is no horizontal scrolling. Then set your screen resolution back to your preferred setting. 2. If you do not do this now, when the 1024 fixed width change rolls out, you will not be able to get to the content that extends beyond the right border. It will not be viewable to retrieve. For more information please see this page on Wetpaint Central http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Page+Formatting+Tip For a detailed look at some conceptual examples of what a page with content will look like for the new page layout, please go here. http://splats2.wetpaint.com/page/Looking+at+the+new+page+layout Splats2 was dead on the money in producing a conceptual look at the new page layout 3 days before the Wetpaint's layout diagram was posted here. The specifications were given in a thread by Wetpaint. Do you find this valuable? |
