Custom URL Issues...HUGE ISSUES!
Sep 24 2009, 9:19 AM EDT | Post edited: Sep 24 2009, 9:19 AM EDT
Ok, here's my issue....I had a custom URL, but when it came up for renewal, I didn't know it. It's gone. Done. DOA. SO, I got a new domain from Go Daddy. So, if I can't get onto my site at all, how do I change my custom url and etc with wetpaint? I am so tired of my site not working and I hope I didn't waste money. HELP!!!! Do you find this valuable?

Please follow the instructions on this page. This should help you with your new DNS and Wetpaint.

The next time your custom url expires, you can always renew it at the same host, as long as the name is still open. You could have used the same GSRForeverLove.com as before. Do you find this valuable?

yes I do know that, but the thing is, I didn't know it was expired. My family and I were in the middle (and still are) of traveling to another state over 1500 miles away to move. Now, we are unpacking. I never got an alert from Doster, never had any sort of help from them at all. I do not reccomend using them. I do thank you for your help, though.

Now the only thing to do is to follow the steps outlined on the page linked here to setup your Cname. http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Custom+URLs.

Don't forget to change the links at your other sites (tripod, etc ) and have them point to the new address.

I have to be able to get into my site before I can do that. That is my current problem. I can't access my site at all.

Piper, I am sorry, you are correct in that you need to get to your site first. Please private message jeremy_wetpaint. He is an employee of Wetpaint. He will need to get into your site and remove the cname for you. He will need your wetpaint address for your site.

Correct. Most services will give you a warning about a month before the domain name expires, so that you have time to register it for another year. Do you find this valuable?

"Wait- they EXPIRE??!!"
If you have a custom domain name, you can always check it for various information. The most important information is:
1. Expiration Date
2. Registrar ( the company, the domain name was purchased from)
3. Similar domain names that are open for purchase.

Any domain can be checked and this information retrieved by going to
