You're absolutely right. The biggest problem I have is Wetpaint's lack of professionalism/courtesy/customer-service by not leting anyone know ahead of time. If we had known ahead of time we could have determined work arounds, to go public, or to change sites. But to be blindsided and only find out when those you've invited (maybe with urgent need to join) have a problem and you are aplogizing and trying to figure out what went wrong... well, that leave a pretty bad taste in your mouth when you think of how and if you want to move ahead with Wetpaint. If I go public and they change something will I find out the same way, though upset users? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. "Anonymous User I have quoted:In respone.... 1. If I have to look at your ads and therefore generate revenue for you while using your service then I AM in fact a customer. 2. I would gladly PAY to have a private site that worked while remaining private. And NO, if I can't invite someone without opening up my site to the whole internet then it does NOT work. Also is there really no way that you could generate anonymous stats for the advertisers if that's actually the issue. Do you find this valuable? |

"Yes, anonymous, why are you complaining? You haven't even bought anything, everything's free, why can't we just wait patiently till they fix it or whatever?"Because I have people waiting to join my site to do business in a private setting that relates to their health and well being. Also I would be happy to buy something if there was something to buy. However, a "premium" account still doesn't give you the option of inviting people to your private wiki without breaching your security. AND, if I could purchase this nonexistant service I wouldn't be able to use PayPal to do it. Allow me to summarize and then just move on in disappointment: EPIC FAIL 1 out of 1 found this valuable. I am sorry you feel that way too. But why not look at this in a positive way? Atleast there are still private sites. Like Naru2008 said, the only thing that disappeared is the Inviting option. Still, does that mean you can't make people join your site? No. To be honest, I don't really get what your problem is. But fine, if you think we're an Epic Fail then leave. I can provide you with some other good web hosts. Feel free to contact me. But I really think this is really a big problem. And if I were you, I would continue using Wetpaint. "In respone....You looking at Wetpaint's ads and are using Wetpaint, it STILL doesn't mean you're a customer. You are only a customer if you pay to get them removed from your site, or you buy a Custom URL. As I said before. -Alex, WPC RU. Do you find this valuable? |

As I said before.Perhaps you should expand your idea of what a customer is. If you don't get eyeballs and clicks for your ads, how long are you going to stay in business? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Perhaps you should expand your idea of what a customer is. If you don't get eyeballs and clicks for your ads, how long are you going to stay in business?"PPC (Pay Per Click) is declining for the most part as a venue for ad-sharing. The advertising industry is trending towards "Impressions". That means how many of my ads are being displayed by your company on its' pages. The normal count of impressions before there is any revenue sharing is 100,000 impressions. So it really doesn't matter how many eyeballs see the ad or clicks are made to an ad. Here is a recap of why private sites may not be offered or supported further into the future as presented in threads and notices on this wiki. 1. The Ad suppliers say "THEY" do not want their ads on a private site where they cannot see them. 2. The amount of resources it took to test and roll out new features on private sites was twice that of public sites. 3. Wetpaint had to streamline its operation and again the first trimmings one will see in any organzation when trimming is necessary is man-power. Wetpaint lost 27 percent of its workforce. Next, a company will look towards trimming offers that are not aligned to the mainstream operation. Wetpaint is an ad-supported operation. I am only trying to present facts here and not offer an opinion. Please view this information as such. See reply number 8 for a more detailed explanation. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
