color of links
Sep 17 2009, 11:32 AM EDT
My links are showing up in light green, which makes them difficult to see when in a table having a light background color. In Easy Edit they show up dark blue. How can I make them stay dark blue (or some other color) on the finished page? (Ex: http://paddockparadise.wetpaint.com/page/What%27s+Happening)

Try changing the table's background color. The link color is automatically adjusted based on the background color.

Hi Jeremy, I would like to have light colors in the table and still have contrast between the links -- is that possible? I see that you changed the color to a darker one. That makes the black text more difficult to read, and I have been getting requests to have more blocks of black text rather than light text on a dark background. If the link color automatically adjusts based on the background color, why isn't it darker on a light background? Is there some way to set it to be a certain color? JoAnn Do you find this valuable? |

I think the link color is connected to the color template of the site, because my primary site color is dark green and all my links are light green, no matter what color the background in a table.

How to change the font color of links no matter where they are.1. Define the text first to the color desired. 2. Then link the text. 3. If the color does not take, then the link must be removed and the text has to be defined again and the link reapplied. Once a link has been created the font color cannot be changed unless the link is removed first. Do you find this valuable? |

Great! That did it. My mistake was using both text boxes in the "create link" window rather than first typing the link's text on the page.

"How to change the font color of links no matter where they are. Thanks for the direction on this. I've tried this several times in different locations on our site and get different results even using the same formula. It seems sometimes wetpaint has a mind of it's own. I've also noticed that there are a lot of other (what seem to be) formatting glitches throughout wetpaint (i.e. centering something and it always reverts back to justified, or coloring a cell and then the color disappears). Does anyone know if theses are these all related? Do you find this valuable? |

First, the link problem. You are correct, when you say Wetpaint has a mind of its own. When you cannot change the link color, try removing the link and starting again. If that doesn't work, remove the line the link was on. Sometimes Wetpaint will not release the attributes on the line or text. The problem of justification, and color of cells, seems to happen in FireFox and not Internet Explorer and most prevelant when a table is inserted into a table. When I work with tables, I always use IE. But IE has a problem with not being able to change font size away from 12 points at times. If you are on a Mac, I have no idea how to fix any of those things you have mentioned. Here is a page of listed problems with browsers and some of the ways to correct them. http://splats2.wetpaint.com/page/Problems 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
