Language support would be a priority for we as well. I am developing a premium page for german speaking users.

Thanks for the reply, but it does not address my point. I don't have to translate content, that I can do myself. What I do need though is one of two options: 1) translated buttons and links, or 2) an ability to translate these buttons and links myself by opening up their descriptions via a metadata context. Will be happy to take this offline if you like to discuss further. This is a feature that is in research, but not likely to come out soon. Wetpaint is an English based company. Firefox, the web browser, allows you to have an automatic translator. What browser are you using? Do you find this valuable? |

Felix, there is no way except for changes to Wetpaint software, to address language support. Most of the buttons are images with the English representation as to what the button's function are. The same as the title bars and navigational tools.Translators will not be able to change them, whether they be mechanical translators, browser translators, or human translators. A different image would have to be made for each language supported. You may want to visit some of the sites listed here to see how they are handling the title bars, icons and buttons in their native language. http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Language+Support I will be experimenting with ways to help with this area for Wetpaint's international users. But, keep in mind, I do not work for Wetpaint. And my results may require a lot of preparation work on the part of the site owner and admins. Do you find this valuable? |

Exactly my point - that is what I have been asking for in the first place and why I started this thread. I have already built my own page in German. What I am asking for is that the buttons and links you mention above are made available in other languages by the Wetpaint team. I know this is no easy task, but it's also no rocket science. If software companies want to cater to a global audience, and succeed in the long run, this is a must have.
