I am getting this error while installing oracle 10g in linux

"Error in writing to directory /tmp/OraInstall. Please ensure that this directory is writable and has at least 60MB of disk space. Installation cannot continue."

Thoes are only local sites! There are tons out there! Just use a search engin and yuou are good to go! 3  out of 5 found this valuable. Do you?

Try runinstaller as oracle and not root.
also, check to see if your temp directory has the proper permission 777
