A New Place for Wetpainter's to Gather and Chat

Wetpaint does not have a centralized place where members can gather from wikis all around and exchange ideas on topics perhaps not related to WPC. A place where the can just talk about wiki life in a thread. Or perhaps chat in a chat room with other Wetpaint wiki members. If you do it here, you will be admonished with an "Do not post irrelevant threads on WPC" or "Please advertise your site on WCA". Well, an avenue is needed to allow such discussions, without feeling guilty for just wanting to share. That place did not exist two weeks ago. Now it does. It is a place were all can gather and have a good time. It has a chat room, categories to talk about your wiki, a TV lounge which showcases some neat videos. It is run by you the member and through your suggestions. Now the explanation. Wetpaint was being filled with clutter such as members wanting to advertise their sites and chit chat type threads. This made it difficult to reach the threads were members of the community were seeking help with their wikis. The first step was to provide a central site for all to advertise their wikis. So a moderator at Wetpaint created WPADS. This has removed many of the site advertising away from the help forums. Clutter from chit chat type threads still remained. There was no centralized place for members to talk about their wikis or just get to know other wiki members across the community. TheBreakRoom hopefully will redirect that type of communications of the community away from the Help forums. There are 22000 plus threads alone in the General Discussions area. Many of the threads fall into the category of non-help topics. If WPC can free these type of threads from happening and clean up the past threads, then the Thread Search function will return useful information and the member will not have to weed through irrelevant posts . Hope this gives further insight to this purpose of this thread.
