Access to Facebook/Can it be disabled?

How can we disable the Facebook link? I am working with a high school teacher and the students are not allowed to use facebook in school. We want to make sure our wiki does not become a way to circumvent that rule. 5  out of 5 found this valuable. Do you?

From what I know, there is no way to remove connecting to facebook link from your site. However, if Facebook is not allowed in your school, you can ask your students to not go on it. Also, I am sure that if Facebook is blocked in the school, I do not think that the students would be able to connect to facebook. Just encourage your students not to connect to Facebook, because, sadly, there is no way to disable the facebook connect. There is a way for users to cancel their Facebook connect if they are already connected to Facebook, but there is no way to disable it. 1  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

You have to contact your school's It manager and request a block on accessing Facebook and perhaps other W2 social networking sites. The IT manager should be able to filter or redirect URL address access tofrom your school's network. 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?
