What do you mean?You say you want to lock the forum for moderator and admins only, but other members can post in it as well? Do you find this valuable? |

You mean how you can lock a page and only Mods and up can edit it?

He means that we should be able to lock forums. And in the forum we locked, only mods and admins can post in them. Other people can only reply to them unless the thread is locked. I think that's what he meant.

Are you suggesting something like a sticky note found on forum sites. Where the content of the sticky can only be edited by a moderator and up. But all can start new forum topics under that sticky?

Here is a thought. You can create a Category. Use the Category description as the topic for discussion . There is a 150 character limit to the description. Only mods could change the description and regular users could add threads to the topic. As a moderator or above you can manage the topic by moving or deleting any thread that is not relevant to the topic. I may be wrong here, but I think there is a 50 category limit. Just a thought. I like this idea of having a locked forum. With a locked forum, administrators and moderators have a place to post their ideas, rules, and site news without having other registered users post there. I like this idea.

I like the idea, only moderators and up would be allowed to start threads, although others could reply... As long as the thread was unlocked, if it was locked only mods and up could reply. Which creates a new idea, Shouldn't moderators and up be able to reply to locked threads? Do you find this valuable? |

I like that idea. I think threads should only be locked so registered users cannot post on locked threads. I know on some forum sites, like the Paint.net forums and a few other forums, if you are a moderator or above, you can post on a locked thread. I think this is a good idea. Great thinking budde!

You see, when a thread is locked, that means the moderators and up do not want users posting on it. At the moment, no one can post on a locked thread unless it is unlocked. However, with this new system that Budde has proposed, only moderators and up can post on locked threads. It seems fair, because it is the moderators that are the ones locking it.

No, this is just a suggestion. However, when wetpaint reads its suggestions and finds one they like, they will try to implant it into the wetpaint system. So, this is not already in process, but it could be if wetpaint likes it. These are all suggestions, and wetpaint cannot take all the suggestions from users, there are too many.
