Colours. Where have they gone?
Aug 13 2009, 10:48 PM EDT | Post edited: Aug 13 2009, 10:48 PM EDT
I have a fansite for a an online game (http://eu2fansite.wetpaint.com) the problem is that i had several things in colour to make them stand out and all my colours have vanished. If i go into the edit function it says they are in colour but omce i click save the colours dont appear. I would like thes ecolours back as it adds some spice to breaks up the white text.

Any help would be grand

What browser are you using? There is currently a bug in wetpaint that happens to people using FireFox and Safari. So if you are using any of those browsers, I suggest you change and use Internet Explorer instead. Ahh..! Glad to see it isn't just me. Yes I also have the problem with Firefox. All my font colours are now BLACK. Not so with IE & it displays correctly.

As IE only accounts for 37% of visitors to my site, I too hope Wetpaint sort this ASAP.

Exactly! There must be a problem in the Wetpaint server where it will not allow the Firefox and Safari browsers to see the colors of fonts or change them, and it will not allow you to change the font size. This is most likely a server error, and I am sure it will be fixed. I suggest if you are using Firefox, maybe switching over to Internet Explorer for the time being. Do you find this valuable?

Well, the font color is the default color. You cannot change it in Firefox and Safari and Flock, another browser that is like Firefox. I hope it is fixed as well, however, it is not just black font, it is the default color font for that site. Some sites with a white background have a default color of black, so you can only use black font on those sites, but sites with black backgrounds have a default font of white, so it only allows you to use white on black background sites. Why no reassurances from Mods or Wetpaint staff. All we need is for one of them to acknowledge the bug exists & confirm it is being worked on Do you find this valuable?

I am a wetpaint community moderator, and so is many of the other moderators around here. As a community moderator for WPC, we cannot fix anything in the wetpaint system. We do not work for wetpaint, so we cannot fix anything in the system. All we can do is contact wetpaint and let them know about the problem. I am sure they know about it, and are working on it. They have probably already realized it, and they are working on it. They may not be responded because they need to fix it. Please, be patient. It will be fixed. Do you find this valuable?

THE PROBLEM
The font problem exists for Firefox users. Internet Explorer displays fonts and colors correctly. The problem is not in Firefox, but in Wetpaint's program to work with Firefox browsers.

WHY DO YOU SEE JUST ONE FONT AND THE SAME COLOR?
There is a safety net that all browsers have built in. If a browser cannot interpret a font, it will use a default font to allow the text content to be seen on the web page. This default browser font is normally arial, black, 12 point size.
A user has the option to change the default browser font under options tool in their browser.
SOLUTION
I am quite certain Wetpaint is aware of the problem and are doing everything it can to fix the problem as fast as they can.
If there is an urgent need to make changes to your wiki site, Firefox users may download Internet Explorer ( I hear the Boos already ) in the interim, to make the necessary changes to their pages.

This problem is effecting many in the community. It is frustrating not to be able to work on your wiki as normal. I as a IT technician, have faced this situation daily in my job. I know the Wetpaint Development staff are doing everything needed to correct this problem. Be patient, and the problem will be resolved in the quickest time frame possible.

As walrusworldstudios, 1#brave and CryingDove already posted, Wetpaint is most likely working to get this bug fixed up as soon as possible and will release it when it is ready. We (WPC Community Moderators) are unaware of any status of the fix. Do you find this valuable?

My site got it too, I do use Firefox. But when I went to EasyEdit, it, like flashed the correct font and color for a second and then went back to dull old Arial. Do you find this valuable?
