These ads

They've gone too far. I was on my profile, just editing as usual, when all of a sudden I hear an audio ad for Lysol Toilet Cleaner. I had no clue what was going on until I refreshed the page and it stopped. We need to stop somewhere! The visual ads are fine, but audio is going too far.

Yeah the same thing happened to me, I thought it was a weird Hulu ad at first. So I stopped the video, and it was still going. That is when I realized it was coming from one of my Wetpaint site tabs. It was a pain too, since I had no idea which one it was coming from.

In fact, we all think it was an awful idea to have audio ads on tfpr.

I'm telling you, they have gone to far. I was on the toilet and from my computer room I heard an ad come over my speakers adverstising Wetpaint. How far will the internet go?lolz Do you find this valuable? |

I agree. Comeon wetpaint.. audio... really?I don't like the other add you have up, the TV Fandex one.. either put it at the way top of the site or on the side... You practically have it in the middle of the site, and it looks awful and is qute annoying. I'd pay to have them removed, but I'd be broke within two months of paying for them removed, lol. Wetpaint, heres a idea, maybe you should, move the ads to the side of the website, and then offer advertisement spots to wetpaint users. Make them pay, but don't make them pay 50 bucks for a week long advertise spot. Maybe, have them pay something fairly cheap like 5-15 bucks, and you rotate the ads. So let's say I advertise my website and DerSpainer advertises his, everytime other time I refresh my page, it would show his banner, and next it'd be mine and etc.. that'd be cool and you may get some profit, heck, i'd be one of them. We shouldn't have any ads that automatically play audio. If you see one that does, take a screenshot of it, post it here at WPC with a description, and send me a message about it with a link to the image.

I get what u mean! They are so annoying! I was just about to post, and then this ad starts playing. But there's another ad, that sometimes covers the screen. When i'm going to reply to a message, then it covers it, and i ahve to move it out of the way. Its so annoying. Do you find this valuable? |

It's really annoying when you try to click something on the Easyedit toolbar and that stupid ad covers it up!

"It's really annoying when you try to click something on the Easyedit toolbar and that stupid ad covers it up!"i had the same problem! it seems there are certain ads that cover the easy edit toolbar and messages.. its really annoying. the audio thing is annoying too. i know wetpaint doesnt mean to have them, but they apparently still slip by. i havnt ever gotten the toilet ad (unfortunately... that one would have actually amused me somewhat!).. i always got the "CONGRATULATIONS! YOUR A WINNER!" or the "Hi, you have been selected for an ipod nano" or something like that... annoying, since im usually listening to music so im unprepared when the ad comes blaring through the speakers lol. but wetpaint has done good, havnt had any problems lately.. ya, the ads under the banner are a bit annoying too, but i have noticed that its mostly been wetpaint wiki ads, and since mine has been advertised there(Supernatural Wiki) im happy =) and even if mine isnt there, there are a bunch of others advertised and i like that =) Do you find this valuable? |

ive had top deal with adio ads before! UGH! I was just editing a page and something came up about toilets! I didnt know what was going on at first until I listened to it. it was an advertisement for Lysol Toilet Cleaner! SERIOUSLY PEOPLE! The ad popped up then I closed it! What a relife! No more toilets!
