how a member can be deleted completely from wetpaint so he cannot see the discussions.

i run an online discussion for my students which is required for my course, and students drop from the course, so i have to remove them in order to prevent them from seeing the contributions of the other students. Do you find this valuable?

You can IP ban them. However, this isn't a good thing to do. You should only do that as a last resort. To IP ban, you must know the person's IP first. In order to do that, you should ask them to do an anonymous contribution, go to the anonymous' profile, then ban them. You must be a moderator or up to do that. Do you find this valuable?

If it's a private site you can just ban the student's username.
