I just tried to load a 28kb MS Word file onto my first page of my new wetpaint website, and it does not seem to show. Any thoughts as to why? The page does have some diagram formating on it (it's a flow chart with arrows), could that be causing problems? Thanks vm Do you find this valuable? |

Wetpaint does not support directly loading Word files to a page. They can be uploaded via an attachment file to a page. The member will have to download the file in order to see the contents. They cannot be viewed on the page. For more information see the following page her on Wetpaint.http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Attachments Do you find this valuable? |

Sorry I posted my listing too soon. You may want to look to embed your doc files with the use of a widget. www.docstoc.com is a great site for online storage. More info on Docstoc on this page. http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Docstoc There is one other site www.box.net This is also an online storage site that can be embedded via a widget onto wetpaint pages. It can handle doc, xls and pdf files. There is no file size limit and offers a 1 gigabyte storage for free. http://www.box.net Do you find this valuable? |

Hi! I have also found the same problem. Diagrams do not load. I have since gotten around the problem by converting the diagrams to a jpeg file (e.g. using Microsoft Paint), and then uploading or embedding into the main body using Wetpaint Photo tool in the EasyEdit Toolbar. In this manner, the document does not need to be uploaded as an attachment.

I have used that method many times to display fixed information such as charts, diagrams or even to give my page a different look, by using an array of fancy fonts. Make the information a jpg, png or gif file. For presentations, a Powerpoint slide show could be used and uploaded to DocStoc.com and grab the embed code and place that on my pages. This method is great for presenting a lot of material and keeping it all above the fold of a wiki page. To see examples of information presented in an image, I invite you to look at this site. http://splats.wetpaint.com Again, what a great reply # 3 has given the community. Do you find this valuable? |
