Anti-Virus 360
Aug 6 2009, 1:33 PM EDT
Well, I found out what the virus was but here's the thing. Nothing will detect it, everytime I'm on Wetpaint, well more occasionaly, the window pops up and it goes downhill from there.Malwarebytes - I did a full scan, nothing came up Spybot - Search And Destroy - Nothing came up [Our Virus Protector] Windows Live OneCare - Full scan, nothing came up. I'm at a loss. Did the virus not download? Or am I just seeing the virus window before anything actually downloads onto my computer? -Echodapple. Thanks for help [: Do you find this valuable? |

It probably hasn't downloaded, or was destroyed.

When you run an Virus Protection Scan, it will scan everything on your computer. However, if there was no virus that came up, your Virus Protection must have destroyed the virus. Also, your computer's Firewall might have destroyed the virus when it entered the computer. When you do a scan and no viruses come up, the virus is not on the computer. It most likely was destroyed, or it was just not downloaded by the person who wrote the virus, as Awesomegamingstaff pointed out.

The other day my daughter unknowingly got that nasty bug and before she should could get me to come look at what was going on it had already did its nasty work. She clicked the link that opened up the pandoras box and that was all. After that I could not run taskmanager to shut it down, it would not allow me to open mcafee or spysweeper, I could not even do an online scan. It disabled everything that I tried to stop it with and sat there popping up every few minutes saying that I had trojans and malware and spyware that needed to be taken care of. I tried everything that I could for a day and finally just killed the hardrive and started over with a fresh install of Windows XP after throroughly purging the hardrive. Wetpaint you owe me one.......

Has this bug been coming back? My cousin said it popped up on here recently. If so, Wetpaint will need a URL to block it.~JJ Do you find this valuable? |

Well, I don't ever click the outside links to anything. Like ads and stuff, so I don't know why I got it but if you are having problems again maybe the wetpaint staff should look into it more?

I suggest running a full computer scan to make sure there are no viruses hiding in places. The scan will take a while, but it needs to be done. Also, make sure that your Windows Firewall is on. Usually, the Firewall kills many of the viruses that try to come through. When it is not on, most viruses will get through. Anyways, check your Firewall and make sure it is on. Maybe turning on the pop-up blocker might prevent pop-ups that could be viruses. Run a scan, and try to kill any viruses in the system. Keep your Firewall on so no more get through. Can you please tell me the URL of the page you are getting this message? Also, what browser are you using? Do you find this valuable? |

If anyone sees a message for Anti-Virus 360 appear while on a Wetpaint site, we need to know what ads were on the page at the time it appeared. If you can take a screen capture of the page, that would be ideal. If you are exposed to this virus, there are instructions for removal here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-antivirus-360 Do you find this valuable? |

I'm using Internet Explorer, I'll keep my eye out and screen it when it occurs, or if it does again.

I don't think so. I have been on Wetpaint for over two years now, and I have never experienced that problem.
