Macs can use Camino
Jul 25 2009, 9:29 PM EDT | Post edited: Aug 9 2009, 1:50 PM EDT
Camino is a Mozilla/Gecko-based browser, sort of like Firefox but just for Macs. I've been using it regularly to edit pages, and it seems to work as well as Firefox, but looks & feels more like Safari.

I don't know if Apple ever listens to us Mac-users (we usually think they don't), but is there somewhere we could write to tell them we care about Safari being compatible?

They've come out with a new version (Safari 4), but I've heard that some people have had problems with it, so I have not gotten it yet. My husband did the upgrade, and I tried it -- the tools are still missing. Using MacOS 10.4.11 (Tiger).

The Wetpaint developers are working diligently with Apple to resolve some of the issues with regards to Safari and Wetpaint. One can only hope that a resolution to some of the problematic areas of browser interpretation of html and CSS will soon be seen. In the meantime we as end-users can only wait. Flock also works well with Wetpaint.
Flock uses the Firefox engine.

Flock and Firefox both run on Mozilla's Gecko engine. Flock will be very similar to FF, with the exception of some of the problems FF has. Flock, like FF has problems with table handling on the Windows side of the market. I have not heard any communications coming from the Mac platform as to problems. The current versions of Firefox and Flock do not support Mac 10.3.9. To see a chart of the different problems found with the different browsers and how to compensate for those problems, follow the link below
