If you want to be modeartor on WPC, you must have the following qualities:
1. You must have been an active user on WPC for a few months.
2. You must be someone that is familiar with Wetpaint features and regularly provide accurate answers to newbie questions in the forum. If you don't know the answer, you know where to look for it or who to ask.
3. You like helping people and enjoy being a part of the Wetpaint community.
4. You don't have Wetpaint baggage - meaning, there aren't 20 sites full of users that hate your guts because you used to be a member there, but you burned your bridges. Guess what? When those users come here for help they still won't like you.
5. To be a moderator you need to be respected, and that means that you have to be respectful of others. You get what you give.
If you feel like you meet all the guidelines listed above, send Jeremy_Wetpaint a private message and let him know about your interest in becoming a community volunteer moderator on Wetpaint Central.

That's what Jeremy said on his profile about being a WPC mod.

You have to see how to be a moderator on that site. For example, on my site, you have to have 100 contributions to be a moderator. Every site is different. To make people become a modeartor, use this page for reference: http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Change+User+Permissions Do you find this valuable?

From past experience being a moderator or up on a majority of the sites I join. Sites with less members often will promote more moderators and at not as strict at the start because they are just getting started. Sites with about 100 - 500 members will make you work for the position, you need anywhere from 100 - 500 contributions. Sites with 1,000 or so members make things a little more difficult, but at the very least 500 contributions can get you a moderating spot. Sites with over 2,000 members, make it near impossible! Mostly because the moderating team is already set in stone. However most sites with popular members check for more then just contributions. They check for the quality of the contributions, they also will check your attitude around the site, if you are rude to others you can get 5,000 contributions and still probably not get promoted. Other qualities will be looked for from site to site. Do you find this valuable?

It all changes per site. Some you will be promoted to moderator status immediately. Others you must contribute 100's of contributions to even become writer. Do you find this valuable?

Yup, like with my site, if you ask to be promoted, you may be demoted. We don't tolerate asking over and over again. Do you find this valuable?
