We want to REMOVE members, not ban them!

There really needs to be a member removal option (and being able to select multiple users at a time for this). So many wikis are setup for educational purposes and teachers need to be able to remove past students without having to ban them, or ask them to remove themselves. Please add this to the next update! 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

What do you envision would be the difference between removing and banning? 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

As Jason said there is not much differnce between the two, just message them, asking them to remove themselves, or what's so bad about banning them anyway? Do you find this valuable?

Yes, like CoolAs100 said, you can ask themselves to cancel their membership.

But if a moderator or Admin wants to remove someone who is disruptive, he or she should not have to "ask" the person to "voluntarily" remove him or herself. That’s actually kind of silly. If I extend an invite to my site, I should be able to revoke that invite at any time. Do you find this valuable?

I totally understand what people are asking for. I want to delete a member, not ban them. Do banned members still get the updates to the Wiki? If not, then banning is okay for me. I just want them gone off the site. Don't want to see their beadie eyed icon anymore. lol Also, what happens when they get banned? Do they get an email saying they've been banned? Banning usually means they did something wrong and was kicked out. Okay, that'll work. But, that's not always appropriate. Do you find this valuable?

They can still get on the site, and create a new account. But they can't sign in with the same username you banned.

On the other hand, please do not bump old threads.

As chrisco said, do not bump old threads. It is called: Forum Necromancy. Rule #11.

Emails are not sent to banned members.
