Just to let all Wetpainters know the pros and cons about this new feature -

Pros:
1) If you create a site within your site, you can get feeds only for those pages.
2) If you create fan clubs or groups on your wiki, you can add feeds for them on their pages.
3) More feeds=more site activity and more interest.

Cons:
1) If you are a boring person, this feature and all Wetpaint features, are not ever DRY! (Inside Wetpaint joke, get it WET Paint! Ha!)

Anyways, everyone wants to hear how you are using this new feature. So experiment, and then post your findings here!

I Like It, But The RSS Feed Doesn't Update Fast (Or At All) Because Made A Blog Post Yesterday, and My Blog RSS Feed is the News Section, and it still doesn't show it. Otherwise, I Love it... Do you find this valuable?

Why is there a limit of 5 news feeds for each wiki? Do you find this valuable?

I don't like it. It is distracting and inappropriate for our site. Can I remove this page so people don't start adding things there? Or hide it? Even the title is confusing because people will think it is news about our organizational activities and I already have a news page. People will wonder which link to choose. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

"Why is there a limit of 5 news feeds for each wiki?"
Good question.
The limit of five news feeds was selected in order to keep it easy to digest and to keep the page load times reasonable. It's possible that we could raise the limit a bit if a lot if users felt they needed more for their site. We decided to start with it set at five and see how users feel about it.

I love it. It's easy to find news from a variety of sources if you just experiment with keywords.

Is there any way to reorder the feeds, so I can control which one is listed first?

News feeds are presented in the order that they are added. You can always remove a feed and re-add it to bring it to the top of the list.

Hi Jeremy,

Your suggestion works but doesn't help. If you rename the bottom feed it works but then you have the same problem when you re add the renamed link. Adding at the top will always displace your no1 choice.

This really needs a way of adding at the bottom or setting feed order as with your existing set page order tool.

Nice feature though

I like it, but the limit of 5 is much to low.
SUGGESTION: Maybe there should be 5, and then another page for 5 news feeds, then a third, etc.

A great idea. I am disappointed more with only getting 3 results per feed. 5 results would be better.

You can add a news feed on ANY page that has the easy edit button. Click the easy edit button. Then click the widget button. Then click the RRS Feed button. Then you can edit the way everything goes together like how many articles and size.

I like the news feed but I wont be using it as there isnt enough feeds available (5 isnt enough) and there is no control over the number of headlines you can display. I have a separate news feed page where I am going to put together my feeds using the widget but it is a little confusing to have this as well as the News heading in the top menu. There should be an option to diable the News heading from this menu. Do you find this valuable?

I agree. I find that having a page with RSS feeds is much more controllable for our individual news needs. My members don't use the new tab because the results are too random & comments posted there do not show up in UPDATES. The section is just too detached from the main site & requires members to check it out separately. Few do.

A good idea, let down in implementation.
