A notification should be displayed under the "My Wetpaint" tab when a new invitation is received. This is now my most wanted feature.

I agree, it would. Then, you could invite them to your private site without having their email. All you would need to know is their wetpaint account username. This would be more secure, and would work out better if people didnt want to give out their personal information like their email.
