Is there a way to turn off the "Invite Others" feature?

When joining, there's a screen that asks if you want to invite others to join. Is it possible to turn this off? Do you find this valuable?

Invitations are available for all users, except on private sites, where only Moderators and above are allowed to invite. It's not possible at this time to turn off invitations during the join process. Do you find this valuable?
