Batch Invitations for Hundreds
Jun 28 2009, 9:15 PM EDT
I would like to invite hundreds of people at a time to join my site, based on their registration in a class that I'm offering. How can I do this without having to type in each email address individually? Can I import an excel spreadsheet for this purpose?

I think you can do it this way. Export your Excel Spreadsheet Contacts to Outlook. Then from Outlook create an CSV file (comma delimited) of your address book, which can be used with the invite function by using "import from address book" on your wiki. Hope this helps Do you find this valuable? |

You can copy and paste into the field, too. The field will only accept 100 email address.

Thanks, Jason, for the additional info on limitation on email addresses that can be submitted at one time. Another thought I had was to make my site public, instead of private, and then let the people who I want to join know about the url. It looks like when someone wants to add a thread on a public site, they are triggered to become a member. Is that right? With a private site, it looks like a non-member can't see anything until they've gotten an invite and accepted.
