How Can Students Log On
Jun 14 2009, 1:12 PM EDT
I am trying to use WetPaint to develop a wiki for a term project in my college Teambuilding Course. I have invited each student by name but when they go to accept the invitation it tells them to see the administrator and ask for an invitation. I sent them the invite in the first place.Do they all have to have accounts on WetPaint first? If so, what is the easiest way to have them do that without building their own site? Any help would be appreciate. I just can seem to find this topic in the help guildes. Perhaps I set it up wrong. Do you find this valuable? |

Once you create an account, your students can create whatever websites they want. If you want them on your private wiki, they have to create an account. There is no way to prevent your students from creating their own site. You can ask them not to, but it i s there decision, because it is their account.

The reply missed the point of the question. How does a student log on to an existing wetpaiint wikiwebsite? I have exactly the same problem. I have created a private wetpaint wikiwebsite and have invited two persons to join. l also created two different email addresss, one on yahoo.com and one on gmail.com and used IT and Firefox on each one. I sent invitations several times to each new email address, then opened the emails I had sent to those addresses as Administrator, then accepted the invitations. In only one instance, did my new wetpaint website display the home page. I noted that I was looking at my site as the Administrator and not the new member. Each new "member" who accepted the invitation, was routed to a page requiring a sign in, but no page whereby the new member could register a user name and provide a password. Where is the Registration page? Can I "register" a new member as the administrator, then advise the new person to use the USER name and the PASSWORD I havea created for each one? WHERE IS THE REGISTRATION PAGE? Jim Miller jimmiller5417@yahoo.com 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

You're not making very much sense to me. Are you trying to find out how to sign in or sign up? What are you trying to say by "Registration page?"

"You're not making very much sense to me. Are you trying to find out how to sign in or sign up? What are you trying to say by "Registration page?""I believe it is the sign up page. In other, each student will have to create an account with WetPaint in order to post or edit, so how do they get to the sign up page? T. Do you find this valuable? |

Each student will have to join Wetpaint and fill out the information required by Wetpaint. This is done by using the Sign Up option on this site http://www.wetpaint.com/. Once they are a vailid member of Wetpaint, then the can join your wiki or other wikis if so desired. When they create their Username and password, the invites will allow them to sign into your wiki site. Hope this helps.. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
