Adding members

I sent an invitation to myself at a different email address (jimmilller5417@gmail.com). I opened that email address and responded to the invitation from myself. I accepted the invitation, skipped the profile and opened the screen which required a log in and password. None had been setup for my gmail account. I tried to login with my gmail account but could not do so.How does a invited person become a member? There is nothing on the Help files about that process. Simply inviting them does not work. How do I make a person a member directly without having to invite them? Jim Miller jimmiller5417@yahoo.com Do you find this valuable? |

There appear to be some other folks who cannot register new members. Below is a sample. The failure to have a Registration procedure where clearly one is needed for private sites, is not good webmastering. Changing settings has nothing to do with registration. Sending Invitations simply does note work. How Can Students Log On Today, 1:12 PM EDT | Post edited: Today, 1:12 PM EDT I am trying to use WetPaint to develop a wiki for a term project in my college Teambuilding Course. I have invited each student by name but when they go to accept the invitation it tells them to see the administrator and ask for an invitation. I sent them the invite in the first place. Do they all have to have accounts on WetPaint first? If so, what is the easiest way to have them do that without building their own site? Any help would be appreciate. I just can seem to find this topic in the help guildes. Perhaps I set it up wrong. http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/thread/2953452/How+Can+Students+Log+On Jim Miller jimmiller5417@yahoo.com Do you find this valuable? |

Jim, you don't say whether you were already signed in to your wiki when you "accepted" the invitation. Were you? Or did you create a new user account? Either way, you need to sign in with your username, which is probably not your gmail address (unless you set it up that way, which we DO NOT recommend).Invitations generally work just fine in our system. Invited users do not need to have existing Wetpaint accounts; they can create a new user account during the process of joining the wiki, or use existing account credentials if they already have them. The thread that you posted before this reply does not match your situation. The students in that course are clearly seeing a different problem than you are. We will need to know which wiki you're trying to invite users to. (Problems with joining are frequently wiki-specific.) If you tell us that we'll be able to investigate further.
