New Starting Site design? Please help!

There is this section on the home page where the new stuff with pdates and stuff is. I want to ghet rid of the box, but i don't know how... Do you find this valuable?

OK! Well, in the EasyEdit toolbar, click on Layout Zones. Then select the first option which is the One Column. Then select OK!
