Capturing entire wiki as .pdf or MS Word doc?
Jun 9 2009, 10:26 PM EDT
I would like to capture my entire wiki and all sub-pages in a alternative format. .pdf or MS word would be perfect. Is there a way to do this other than visiting each page, capturing the content, and then combining? This could take a very long time. I just want to capture the whole site as a single file. Thank you!

If you are the creator or Admin of the wiki, go to settings and selectBACKUP. This will save your entire site in a zip file. The files within the Zip file will all be HTML files. Extract all files. In MS-Word Create a new blank document Click Insert option Click on the Down arrow at the right side of Object. Select Text from File… option. In the “Insert File” dialog window, select all HTML pages that you want to merge and combine into one. To select multiple files, press and hold down “CTRL” key while clicking on the files one by one. If your files in is a series, select the first file on top, press and hold down “SHIFT” key, then click on the last file to select all files in between inclusive. All documents selected now merged and combined into a single document file. Remember to save the file. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Note: If you use widgets or iframes on your site, the code for the widget will be displayed in the MS-Word document you created. This includes iFrame code. To check your document in your web browser, choose SAVE AS - OTHER FORMAT - WEB PAGE. Upon doing this, all embedded code will be executed and you widgets and iframes will show as normal.
