What you are referencing is known as ANCHORS. Wetpaint does not offer that function. A work around for having anchors on your page is to create a unique one word header for each paragraph. Create a list of those unique words as your index. Your index could be set up into a two column table. First column with the unique word and the second column explaining what paragraph it indexes to. Have your members do a CTRL-F on that page. This will bring up the browser's find on page function. Type in the unique word and click NEXT. It will find the unique word in your index and if you click NEXT again it will find your paragraph. If at the very beginning of your page you put the word TOP. The member can express to the top of the page from anywhere on the page by doing a CTR-F and putting in TOP for the find word. That is how I navigate through long pages. See this page for exampe of anchors in use, http://splats.wetpaint.com/page/How+to+put+anchors+on+your+page 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

That is exactly the question I have. In Dreamweaver, you can create an anchor at the top of your page and link it to an item on down the page. That is what I need to be able to do - have users click on a heading that will take them down to wherever I have it linked on down the page. Is that what you want to do?
