1. RE: Photos on member's list

It would probably be the file type. Can you please tell me what file type the images are?
Do you find this valuable?

Hi Walrus,Thanks for your reply. How do I get that information? Would I have to ask the individual members what file type they uploaded or is there another way I can find out? I know in my case it's a .jpg file and that hasn't been truncated - but it's not portrait style either. Hmm, let me go and find a portrait-shaped .jpg photo to upload to my Wetpaint profile and see if it gets truncated in the member list. I did a Save Image As for a non-truncated image and my own (non-truncated) image and they both came up as .jpg. I don't know if that means the original image uploaded was a .jpg or not, but if I do a Save As on your image it comes up as .png, so maybe it does mean the original file type is as it appears in the Save As? "Hmm, let me go and find a portrait-shaped .jpg photo to upload to my Wetpaint profile and see if it gets truncated in the member list."OK, I've uploaded a portrait-shaped .jpg now and if you look in the Members list (may be easier to order it by Most Recent Activity) the picture is truncated. (Compare it with the image showing here or on my profile.) So I don't think it is because of the file type. What do you reckon? Shall I make a note on the Wetpaint suggestions page and in the meantime tell members to upload a square or landscape-shaped photo if they don't want their face to be cut off at the bottom? Many TIA for your input on this. Do you find this valuable? |
