Photo vs. Video Descriptions
May 16 2009, 1:34 PM EDT
Is it possible to allow photo descriptions to be just as long as video descriptions? Currently, videos support up to 5,000 characters in their descriptions but photos only support up to 255 characters in their descriptions.

I would actually argue that pictures are harder to explain since the video does a lot of the explaining for you.

Not at the moment. Thanks for your feedback. However, photo descriptions dont need long descriptions like videos because they are easier to explain.

Plus, I am viewing this from an educational perspective. I want my students to collaborate and create detailed explanations for key figures and diagrams related to the course content. 255 characters does not allow for this (5,000 characters would).

Alternatively, your students can enter the description under the image after adding it to a page, this can be as many character as you like.
