Hi: I'm new to this and as I recall from website purchases from work, a domain name must be purchased -- is that still true? How is this accomplished through wet paint?

Go to http://www.wetpaintcentral.com/page/Custom+URLs. That page has a lot of info about domains. Do you find this valuable?
