But what about using styles like
T.H.I.S .:this:. and {this} as titles? they add a nice touch in my opinion.

As titles of pages? Those usually end up creating bugs. Do you find this valuable?

They create bugs because using .'s and /'s in the URL can prevent the link from working properly because the "/" sign indicates a change in the URL's path.
