easyedit: support for browsers, password-protection, & HTML embedding
Apr 13 2009, 9:23 PM EDT | Post edited: Apr 13 2009, 9:49 PM EDT
google chrome can't display the tools, as well as safari.. it's about time they get support too..

and how about the option for the creator and the page maker to make "Easy Edit" password-protected on a page? I know there is a lock page feature (only for mods and up), you can even deny registered users access to editing pages unless they apply as writer, but I was thinking of protecting a page from being editted by everyone (except the ones who know the password, and the page creator), including mods and up (except for the creator of course) on a free-for-all editting site... the page creator shouldn't get prompted for the password everytime the dude edits..

HTML Embedding
there should be a feature under easyedit to insert and execute any html codes, very useful for formatting text, inserting non-flash-based widgets, and more!

EDIT: added HTML Embedding

Very good idea. I like it. It is a good idea. I will make sure the staff takes this into consideration.

Well, you have some really good ideas. Wetpaint should try some of these out.

That would be a nice idea to. And it would all be manageable for wetpaint to complete.

Nonsupported browsers such as safari and chrome aren't wetpaint's problem, and will most likely never be supported unless the good people at apple and google decide to change the software that the browsers are based on. Html editing can be achived by placin it an iframe.

I think it would have to replace the add widget feature, since the codes you use in that feature are HTML... Do you find this valuable?

I have never used iframe, but from what I can tell it allows you to program html within the limits of the iframe widget. This means that sites can use html, but only in the editble area. (So they can't remove the ads or alter the navigation.) Do you find this valuable?

They should make it so you can add HTML based widgets.
That would be a good addition to wetpaint. You could do so much more on Wetpaint.

the content is flash-based all right, but you use HTML code to in the add widget feature (for other widgets that are not in the selection)..

Something I have tried to get people to understand today,
"Firefox is the best web browser. IE is terrible. Toss IE out the window and download Firefox."
