Known issues for the 4/8/09 Release

Hiya. Last night we pushed out a release for a set of new features. Here's the list of issues we're aware of and are working on right now:Fixed - Album link on Photo Detail pages returning Oops page. Fixed - Not receiving 'share video collection' emails. Fixed - Oops page loading compliments page when compliment is pending Fixed - Email album includes incorrect URL Fixed - Video collection activity showing up in updates with invalid information. Fixed - Photo album activity not showing in Site Activity. Fixed - Threads not displaying on some pages. As of 4/15, all known issues are resolved. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Hey Jason. I think I might have discovered another, though it might just be my computer.When you go to a person's profile, and click, "View All" for the threads, it will show "There are no threads for ________'s profile." I know there are, because it said, "Showing 4 out of 14" next to the view all button. This also happens on any given page. Thanks for the Update, though! 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Your featured discussion box makes a reply to a thread make it look like the replyer created the original post-bad, bad, bad. On some sites-moderators are snarky & would be very upset. Some sites just don't have featured threads-I felt compelled to send a message to all members at "The Mentalist" site because your work made it look as though I created a hot thread when I replied to somebody-I also created a thread that explained last night's foul up. It also removes history of actions- I MUST ADD-YOUR UPDATE SEEMS TO HAVE CREATED DIFFERENT PROBLEMS ON DIFFERENT SITES-I READ OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THE FIRST POST & SOME PROBLEMS LISTED AREN'T ON MINE-BUT WE DO HAVE OTHER PROBLEMS. .

Meyati, there always are problems that come with an update, but Wetpaint only tries to make it better.

How well I know that. This is feed back & I'm giving it. I was given credit for starting a popular thread, on "The Mentalist" when I made a reply. That can really set off some people. I worked hard to be a moderator on that fun site-I don't want the special relationship that the group has to be ruined. The members are creators and mods on other sites-if they have problems-they need to come to WetPaint Central & read the posts on these threads. If they have a unique problem, they can get back to you-but there isn't any sense in a sleepy or rushed member to think that another member is trying to take over the site or something-okay. Also somebody needs to say that different sites seem to be reacting differently for some reason-How else would you know that, unless someone says it. WetPaint has thousands of sites. I enjoy Wetpaint-but I'm allowed to give feed back on problems

"Bijou, I'm pretty sure this is a new feature, however a lot of members don't like it."I know, a lot of people are complaining about it. and it's annoying to have to go to the first page everytime you click on a thread ( I mean on the luke and noah fans wiki we have over 400 pages and one with over 800 pages, it's annoying that you cant just skip to the end so to speak) Do you find this valuable? |

I can't disagree with that, it does look more clean. But I wish they'd put the pages back, and remove that abnoxious featured thread box at the top of the page, or at least make it change sizes depending on how many featured threads there are. Do you find this valuable? |

"This reminded me to ask whether Wetpaint is trying to redefine "thread." I've always thought of a discussion thread as being a group of messages (posts) with the same subject line, but Wetpaint calls each individual post a "thread." I find this confusing and disconcerting. Could you explain that reasoning, please? (After the more urgent update issues are taken care of, of course.) According to Wikipedia, "A threaded discussion is an electronic discussion in which the software aids the user by visually grouping messages. Messages are usually grouped visually in a hierarchy by topic. A set of messages grouped in this way is called a topic thread or simply "thread". A discussion forum, e-mail client or news client is said to have "threaded topics" if it groups messages on the same topic together for easy reading in this manner. Moreover, threaded discussions typically allow users to reply to particular posting within a topic's thread. As a result, there can be a hierarchy of discussions within the thread topic. Various types of software may allow this hierarchy to be displayed in what's called Threaded Mode. (The alternative being Linear Mode, which typically shows all of the posts in date order, regardless of who may have specifically replied to whom.)" Do you find this valuable? |

I honestly didn't like the new updates with the featured threads in a small box, and then with all the others as well, and, how you can no longer skip to say page 5 of a thread from the discussion forum.
