Accessing raw markup
Mar 31 2009, 2:13 PM EDT | Post edited: Mar 31 2009, 2:13 PM EDT
Is there a way to bypass the 'easy edit' feature and access the raw markup syntax in use? I need to dump a large quantity of information from a 3rd party app into a wiki with links to other wiki pages and font color changes embedded in the text.
The only way I can see to do this is by generating the data with the markup inline and pasting the text. I most certainly am not going to go through 'easy edit's UI to markup each of several hundred links by hand.

If you view the page generated by the HTML you want to use in a browser, you can copy that and paste it into Easy Edit. 0  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

Copy/paste (from IE) will catch the links, but not the font color changes. Do you find this valuable?

I need a solution for this also, I 'm trying to copy a table that's already been written in wiki markup, however simply copying and pasting the table into easy edit completely ruins the format. It would be very nice if there was a possibility to enter raw code Do you find this valuable?

Wetpaint does not support raw HTML editing. Wetpaint was designed to be a purely WYSIWYG interface so that anyone can create or participate in adding content to a web site. Do you find this valuable?

That's nice in principle, but how do I get out when my cursor is caught inside a tag?? I can't space away or move away from linked text and get *outside* the </a>. Pure WYSIWYG just doesn't work!!

Seconded. WYSIWYG is great for people that don't want to bother remembering tags and how they interact. I'm a programmer; WYSIWYG is not only less useful to me, it's actively antagonistic to my productivity. Do you find this valuable?

Use something else then.

I would also like to see a feature to enable access to raw markup--it would save me a TON of time. Unfortunately, I did not have choice of the site chosen, so I can't just "use something else". Do you find this valuable?
