Links, including Pages list, are difficult to read
Mar 27 2009, 6:30 AM EDT
The color for unvisited links is too pale. It makes them hard to read -- especially the Pages list with it's tiny font-size. Can the unvisited links color PLEASE be changed to the normal, darker blue that most sites use?? (Or let us edit the HTML so we can do it ourselves.)Otherwise, I'm very happy with the WetPaint wiki-farm... you-all are doing a good job, and I thank you. . 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

I just started this thread, but I can't seem to get my name on it. I am signed in, but it will only let me be Anonymous. If I click on "Get credit..." it asks me to sign in again -- every time. ManfredS . Do you find this valuable? |

I agree -- the link color is too blond, making it hard to read. When I put links in my text, I want them to stand out. But with that color, they almost disappear. I also agree that WetPaint is a pretty good farm. My site is AskGeneva.wetpaint.com -- a Q & A wiki about Mac computers. . 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

You can always write the word in another color and then link it. It will preserve the color you chose that way! And that means, your links can be blue, red , yellow, whatever.

I tried this, and sometimes it works, but usually not. The color reverts to the pale aqua. . Do you find this valuable? |

Wait... I stand corrected. You are right -- I tried it just now and it works IF the color is changed BEFORE the link is added. I had been usually trying to change it after it was already a link. So on the links that are there, I have to first remove the link, then change the color, then make it a link again. And I have soooo many links on my pages, to fix. Oh, well. It would still be nice if we could change it for the whole site, or youse guys would. Thanks for the help, anyway. I still love Wet Paint. Oh, bother -- I have to be corrected again. I tried linking some already colorized text, and sometimes it used the color that was there, and sometimes it reverted to the pale, wimpy, shy, regular wetpaint unvisited link color!! In fact, I tried to link a short phrase, and it made 2 links (to the same site) -- the 1st 2 letters retained their given color and became one link, the rest reverted to link-color and became a 2nd link. I tried linking just one word of the phrase -- it reverted. No matter how I removed links, and tried different combinations, I could not get any of the rest of the phrase to keep the color I had given it. Do you find this valuable? |

Sometimes it's "preserved" -- sometimes not. If I choose the color black from the list, it is always preserved (so far), but if I use a custom color (which I prefer), it usually reverts to the default, but not always. Added: On one of my pages (http://askgeneva.wetpaint.com/page/Add-Ons+for+your+Mac+--+Programs+plus) I changed all the link colors to the #0000ff blue in the color list. Some kept the new, some did not (reverted to #36b3d1 default). Then I went through 5 of the ones that reverted and removed the link, clicked the color again, then added the link. 4 kept new color, one reverted. Using Firefox 3.0.8 on a MacBook IntelDuo running MacOS 10.4 (Tiger). Do you find this valuable? |
