Well, there are things in the Photo Gallery called Albums. Albums allow you to add related pictures and keep them all organized in one folder or album. If put photos in an album, you can use them in a photo slideshow later. To make a photo slideshow, go to a page and hit "easy edit". On the easy edit bar, there is a button for called "Photo". You need to hit that. Go to "Add Slideshow" and you can select a photo album or the whole photo gallery to use in your slideshow.
