Pasting text with quote marks and apostrophes wreaks havoc w/Messages

I like to compose my longer messages off line in Microsoft Word where I have built-in spell check and paste the text into my Wetpaint messages. However, quote marks and apostrophes get converted and sent as the following escape codes:Apostrophe gets sent as ’ Quote marks get sent as “ For example, isn't gets sent as isn’t I've numerous different fonts, and the problem persists. Curiously, when I paste into a web page (instead of a message), I don't have the problem. This has caused confusion among my Wiki members, and so, I'm having to compose every message from scratch even though 80% are the same from one member to the other. Please help. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Egads! I realized that I should have said quotation marks and not commas. Commas work fine. Pasting quotation marks results in the escape codes. Also, I forgot to mention, the text with quotation marks and apostrophes looks fine when I paste it in. It's only after it sent that it gets converted to the escape codes. Do you find this valuable? |

I use Windows Explorer 7, and Microsoft Vista.I will avoid using quotation marks and apostrophes until there's a fix. The insidiousness of the bug is that everything looks good on my end when I compose the message, but the recipients see the escape codes in place of the punctuation. It turns my eloquent dissertations into gobbledygook. Jim Do you find this valuable? |
