How do I make someone writer?

I know there's a setting I should change, but I forgot which. This is more convenient than locking pages. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

If you are asking how to make someone a writer, then just go to their profile, and click change permissions. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

No. Not that. To get writers in the first place you need to go to settings and do something or to set your site settings in a certain way from the start. If you don't, when you click change permission, the writer group won't appear (all other groups will appear though).
edit: I've figured this one out. settings>permissions>only people I invite bla bla bla...

The writer permissions role only exists on "invitation required" sites where regular registered users do not have access to EasyEdit. This is controlled by the site creator or administrator in the site settings:
