If you are asking how to make someone a writer, then just go to their profile, and click change permissions.

To get writers in the first place you need to go to settings and do something or to set your site settings in a certain way from the start. If you don't, when you click change permission, the writer group won't appear (all other groups will appear though). edit: I've figured this one out. settings>permissions>only people I invite bla bla bla... 1 out of 1 found this valuable. The writer permissions role only exists on "invitation required" sites where regular registered users do not have access to EasyEdit.
