Text In Table Trouble
Mar 10 2009, 6:59 AM EDT
SINCE NOBODY ANSWERED MY QUESTION, HERE IT IS AGAIN!!!I place a table on my 'Rules' page of my website to organize it better. I had the text in the top row centered, and I want the text in the rest of the rows below it on the left side. However, even though I put all of the text below the first row on the left side, after I hit Save, it won't stay on the left, it shifts to the center. Please help me in any way possible. Here's a link directly to the page I have a question on. www.justaddwatersite.wetpaint.com/page/Rules Thanks so much! You rock, Wetpaint! 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

What is the browser you are using? That might be the cause.

easy edit: select text you want to have left alignment, select the left alignment (the first one) from the easy edit bar and voila, you done. Do it one column at a time.

"easy edit: select text you want to have left alignment, select the left alignment (the first one) from the easy edit bar and voila, you done. Do it one column at a time."If this doesn't help, clear your cookies. And if that fails, report the bug. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Centering text in tables is problematic. Browsers handle it differently. If you're centering the actual text, you should be fine, but centering the table or the table cell can cause problems. The best way to fix it is to open Easy Edit and select all. Then left-align everything. Then select *only* the text that you want to center in the table. Make sure you're not selecting the table cell or the table itself. Then center that text. I know it's not ideal, but the differences between browsers makes it impossible to handle for all cases. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

In my opinion, Firefox tends to work better on all sites. In this case, though, IE recognizes the <align> tag on a table, and Firefox does not.
