Chat room

My friend created a site on wetpaint, and she has a chat room for all the people that are on her site. How do I get a chatroom on my site? 5  out of 5 found this valuable. Do you?

To add a chat room you first have to choose which one you like best. there are many that work with Wetpaint. my favorite is xat, which you can find on www.xat.com . theres also Meebo or Gabbly. anyway, you simply go to those sites and there will be a button somewhere that says, Create a Chat, or something related to that. then you follow the steps until you reach the end, where you will find an embed code. copy and paste that onto your site like any widget and you'll have your chat box. i hope that helps! =D 1  out of 1 found this valuable. I would like a private chat room for members in my site only. Does the recommended site offer that? Do you find this valuable?

Well, you would have to make your site private if you want only your members to chat on the chatroom. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Most of the chat widgets are open chat rooms. Anyone on the chat offering site can go to your chat room. The best chat that I have found is Chatango. It offers a mini-chat which you can set up just for your wiki and only those visiting your wiki can chat in the mini chat window. That is as close as you get to having a private chat room. Read more about it here. http://chatango.com/page?FAQ
I have used this chat widget on my site without any strangers disrupting the order of things. Comes with many tools to manage your chat room. Check it out. If you put it on your home page, it will tell you how many (not who) persons are on your wiki.

To embed it, go to the page you want it on, and add it like this:
